Special Request from the Office of the Procurement Ombud
|
From The Government of Canada and The Office of the Procurement Ombud-
Â
The Office of the Procurement Ombud (OPO) had the pleasure of meeting many of you at the 2023 Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM & Convention in Calgary. OPO appreciated being included in the convention and strongly believes that the Chambers of Commerce are essential in connecting Canada’s business communities. OPO also greatly supports your role in providing Canadian businesses with the essential tools and resources that help them succeed.
Â
Through our participation at the Convention it became clear that your members were interested to learn more about our office and associated services but were generally unaware of our existence before meeting us. We are therefore hopeful that you would be willing to share information on our office’s services to your broader membership.
Â
One immediate way to help would be to add a link to OPO’s website (Office of the Procurement Ombud) under your resources section on “Tools for Small Business”, or similar. If you have already done so, we are very appreciative of your support.
Â
Additionally, we would welcome an opportunity to deliver a presentation to your members who are doing business, or are trying to do business with the federal government. If this would be of interest please contact the OPO Acting Director of Communications directly at wafa.ibrahim@opo-boa.gc.ca.
Â
To learn more about our activities over the past fiscal year, we encourage you to read our 2022-2023 Annual Report.
|
At the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce, advocacy is at the heart of our mission. As the unified voice of business, we tirelessly represent your interests on the issues that impact our vibrant business community.
Â
Whether you need support, have concerns, or wish to contribute to our advocacy efforts, we invite you to reach out through our advocacy page submission.
Â
Alternatively, you can connect directly with our dedicated Executive Director, Dianna De Sousa, at ed@fortmcmurraychamber.ca.
Â
Our Business Advocacy Committee plays a crucial role in engaging with all levels of government to influence policies, regulations, and decisions that foster a favorable business environment for success and growth in the Wood Buffalo region.
Â
Your insights are invaluable, and we encourage you to share any issues or barriers affecting businesses in our region, be they municipal, provincial, or federal. Together, we can shape a thriving business landscape.
