2022 Business Awards Celebration A Resounding Success! Congratulations to All!

 

Fort McMurray, Alberta (October 31st, 2022). The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce 2022 Business Awards Celebration, presented by ATB, Muessle Flett Law LLP, and MNP was a tremendous success!

 

The live, in-person Awards Celebration—a premier local celebration culminating the Small Business Week Celebrations—saw a total attendance of over three hundred local business and community individuals, who gathered to network and toast the absolute best of local business in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.
“It was such a pleasure to join with members of our business community in celebration of our individual and collective accomplishments,” said Kristi Hines, Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce Board Chair.
The Celebrations saw Dave Tuccaro as the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, with Dave delivering an engaging and humorous acceptance speech.
The winners varied in size from home-based businesses to small, medium, and large businesses, Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses, across varied business sectors.
The big winners of the night McKay Metis Group, the business arm of the McKay Metis Nation walked away with a hattrick while Kid Drop and Sparksman Transportation followed with two awards each.

For another year, the celebration highlighted the incredible diversity of local business in the Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo, while the Awards celebration brought together a highly diverse selection of local musicians and cultural and art performers. The event was executed by a number of small businesses in the region, and it was a 1920’s Haunted Mansion-themed event that was hosted by Tim Heggie & Jenny Price with house band Dan Tulk & The Chambermen (Will Collins Darcy Weavers).
Performances were featured by Bentley Penn, Ghost Quartet (Akshaya Lakshmi TJ Carabeo Dianne Perry Tanner C R Chubb), Dianne Perry, Jess Payette, Winter-rose, Stella L ’Amour, and MKD The Space.
Pre-show and intermission festivities were delivered by The Phantastic Swing Kings featuring Daniel Gillies, a 360 photobooth from SkyLight Events Inc, and a curated drink menu from cocktailsbyboots.
“The tenacity displayed by our local business community this past 2 years has been truly inspiring and it is such a pleasure to celebrate their excellence. Celebrations like these take many months to prepare and are the truly rewarding moments of our role as a Chamber of Commerce. For me, they are all winners” said Dianna de Sousa, Executive Director of the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce.
With the successful conclusion of the 2022 Business Awards Celebration, the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce is now working toward a strong finish to 2022, featuring networking sessions with the Mayor and a forthcoming holiday campaign to promote shopping locally.
